Cross River State governor, Professor Ben Ayade, said the floating of the state-owned Cally Air will help unlock the economic potentials of the state.

Cally Air, Monday, made its maiden flight into Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar from Lagos en route Abuja.

Addressing journalists shortly after the aircraft touched down, Governor Ayade said it was a dream come true, reiterating that the airline is wholly owned by the Cross River State Government, Ayade said no loan was obtained to acquire the aircraft.

The Governor urged Cross Riverians to patronize the airline, noting that “Cally Air will make punctuality the soul of its business,

Some of the passengers of the airline commended the state government for fulfilling the promise made to them three years ago, saying they are proud flying a state-owned airline in their lifetime.
Governor Ayade said with the full operation of the two state owned airline, Cross River tourism will be boosted and create job opportunities for the teeming young citizens of Cross River State.
