Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade has directed the immediate provision of an alternative office and two Hilux Operation Vehicles to the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

This is following the vandalisation of their office during the recent hoodlums attack in the state.

Ayade who visited the premises of the examination body to see the extent of the destruction, pleaded with the management to shelve plans to relocate from Cross River State.

The Governor said, relocating the WAEC office from Calabar to Uyo will not serve the interest of the people of Cross River State, and will affect the quality of the examination in the state.

While seeking for the forgiveness of the young people involved in the attack, the Governor said they did not know that it is for their sake that those public property are in place.

The Senior Deputy Registrar, Test Development Division (TDD), Mrs. Frances Iweha Onuku, thanked the governor for the visit and pleaded for assistance.
