The Governor, who announced the release of 500 million Naira with 20 vehicles for the effective running of the Committee, called on the Federal Government to see Cross River as a priority, due to its international borderline with Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome, and Principe.
He said despite the zero incident of Coronavirus in Cross River, the pressures on the state health facilities are enormous which need the Federal Government’s intervention to alleviate the current situation.
The Governor also directed the Food Bank Sub-Committee to make available staple foods for every household to ameliorate the hardship they may face during the lockdown period.
