The Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh, has described the late elder statesman and Afenifere chieftain, Pa Ayo Adebanjo as a fearless advocate for justice and democracy.

In a statement made available to the media, the minister says Pa Ayo Adebanjo was a towering statesman whose unwavering commitment to democracy, good governance, and true federalism shaped Nigeria’s political landscape.

He praised the late Afenifere leader for his fearless stance on national issues, his dedication to justice, and his refusal to compromise on his principles, even in the face of opposition.

Chief Adebanjo, known for his boldness in speaking truth to power, was regarded as a mentor to many and a champion of equity and fairness.

The minister noted that his intellectual depth, political foresight, and patriotic zeal would continue to inspire generations.

At 96, Adebanjo leaves behind a legacy of courage and selfless service. Momoh extended his condolences to his family, the Afenifere group, and all Nigerians who revered his leadership, praying for his soul to rest in peace.
