The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, June 10

During a gun duel, the bandits were allegedly crossing towards Mashegu and Wushishi Local Government Areas of the state to rustle cattle.

According to Katako, the military, police, and members of the vigilante are trying their best to ensure peace and security of lives and property in the state, and deserve to be commended.

He further decried the continuous, unexpected attacks on security personnel.

He calls for patience, support and prayers to overcome the menace of insecurity bedevilling the state and Nigeria at large.

When contacted, the military authorities in the state said they would confirm and revert on the authenticity of the report.
