The Quick Response Force (QRF) of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI, deployed at Malekachi in Kebbi State, has rescued seventeen hostages and captured five operational motorcycles from terrorists.

A statement by the Force Information Officer, OPHD Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, said the success was recorded due to a timely and swift response to a distress call that terrorists had kidnapped an unspecified number of persons at Kanya Village of Danko-Wassegu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Northwest Nigeria, and that they were trying to cross with the victims to Niger State.

The statement added that troops swiftly mobilized and laid ambush at the suspected terrorists’ routes and crossing points at Karenbana village.

Subsequently, the troops’ superior fire power forced the terrorists to abandon the victims and escape with gunshot wounds, leading to the rescue of 17 kidnap victims.

The rescued victims comprised six females and eleven males, including police personnel, who were kidnapped at Danko-Wasagu LGA in Kebbi State.
