Bandits abduct 3 sons of Deputy Provost of Isa Kaita COE, Katsina State

Suspected bandits have abducted 3 children of the Deputy Provost of the Isa Kaita College of Education, Dr Ismail Ado Funtua, in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

A source in the area said the heavily armed men invaded the campus on Monday night at about 11:30 pm and when the bandits’ gained entrance into the school premises, they broke into the residence of the Deputy Provost where they abducted three of his children.

According to the source, when the bandits’ arrived at the Deputy Provosts’ residence, his gateman was absent, making it easy for the abductors to remove the padlock on the door and entered the house.

It was also gathered that, upon entry into the house, they went into the parlour and met the young men who were studying.

He added that the bandits abducted the gateman alongside three of the children, of the Deputy Provost whose names are: Usman, Aminu and Abdullahi, while the fourth young man sneaked out, as they were matched out of the house.

The source added that on their way into the forest, the abductors released the gateman and went away with the 3 children.

As at the time of filing this report, official statement was being awaited from the police authorities.
