Police have confirmed the abduction of the Dutsinma Regional Manager of the Sokoto-Rima River Basin Development Authority, SRRBDA, Labaran Dandume, by bandits in Katsina State.
Spokesperson of the Police in Katsina State, SP Gambo Isah, who made the confirmation, however, said efforts are on to rescue the victim. He said, details of the incident are still sketchy.
Local sources say the victim was abducted by the bandits in a commando-style when they stormed his residence located inside the Authority’s Staff Quarters in Dustin-Ma at about 11.47 p.m on Thursday.

The sources also added that the gunmen, numbering about 10, forced the victim into their vehicle, and sped off in an operation that lasted less than 20 minutes.
But the police say, they are on top of the situation, to trace and rescue the victim unhurt.
