Kebbi State Government has confirmed that hundreds of armed bandits have attacked a Mobile Police post in Makuku, located in Zuru Local Government Area,
The Director of Security at the Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Zagga, disclosed this to journalists in Bagudo Local Government Area.
He said the mobile police post manned by visiting officers, came under heavy attack from a large group of bandits who overpowered the officers.
According to Zagga, the bandits burnt a Toyota Hilux patrol vehicle belonging to the police unit but there was no casualty.
He further revealed that upon learning of the attack, the state government requested air support from the Nigerian Air Force, which forced the bandits to retreat.
The director of security also said that most of the bandits the state from neighboring Zamfara and Niger States as Makuku village shares border with Niger State.
