Suspected bandits who abducted 29 wedding guests on Saturday in Zamfara, have demanded a ransom of 145 million Naira.

A source close to the family of one of the victims said the number of abducted victims has reduced from 50 to 29.

He said the 21 others who hid in the bushes to evade the kidnap have returned to their different homes after the news went viral.

He added that the bandits called twice on Monday morning to inform the families of their stand regarding the victims in their custody.

According to him, they are to pay 5 million Naira for each of the twenty-nine persons, amounting to 145 million Naira, before they can be released.

It was gathered that the terrorists have vowed not to reduce anything from the N5 million Naira being demanded per head.

It was also gathered that many of the abducted people were mobile phone dealers at the Bebeji Communication Market in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

They were abducted on Saturday evening while returning from the wedding of one of their colleagues, at Tambuwal, in Sokoto State.
