Bandits have reportedly launched fresh attacks on several communities in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
This is coming barely less than 24 hours after some protesting youths barricaded the ever busy Katsina/Kankara Highway in Yantumaki town.
They were protesting over what they described as the high rate of insecurity there.
They burnt tyres as well as the 2019 election campaign billboard which bore the pictures of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Masari.
An anonymous witness said the bandits arrived at about 5 pm on Tuesday, shooting sporadically into the air, while the residents scampered for safety.
He added that there were no police or other security personnel in sight at the time.
