No fewer than 42 persons were killed by suspected bandits in five communities of Faru District of Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State Thursday evening.
Sources said the five communities affected include; Tsauni, Gidan Baushi, Gidan Adamu, Wari, Gidan Maidawa.
The sources also said, the bandits stormed the five communities in hundreds of motorcycles, and began to shoot sporadically, which led to the killing of forty-two persons.

The locals said, most of the persons killed were farmers, who were cultivating crops in their farmlands.
Efforts to reach the police spokesman in the State, Mohammed Shehu, to confirm the development were unsuccessful, as he was not responding to call nor text messages.
