Bandits kill eight, injure others in Zamfara communities

No fewer than eight people were killed and many others injured by suspected bandits who invaded several communities in Gusau local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Unspecified number of women and children were said to have been abducted by the suspected bandits at different communities which are closed to Gusau, the State capital.

The affected communities were Geba, Tsakuwa, Gidan Kada, Gidan Kaura among others.

Sources said that, the suspected bandits stormed the communities and started shooting sporadically killing eight Persons, injured several others and set ablaze property.

Eyewitnesses also said the Bandits were moving from one community to another conducting their operation.

The sources explained that most members of the affected communities have left their homes to Damban area of Gusau Metropolis for safety.

The state Commmissioner for Information Ibrahim Dosara however confirmed that only one community was attacked by the suspected bandits contrary to claims that several communities were attacked.

He also said that nobody was killed in the attacked but three persons were injured and security operatives have been deployed to the affected community to restore peace and order.
