Two persons were killed during bandits attack on three villages in Maradun Local Government Area of the state of Zamfara state.
The incident forced residents to flee for safety into the bush.
The affected villages are Magami, Tungar Haya and Sabon Sara.
An indigene of the area, Ibrahim Magami said the bandits stormed the communities on motorcycles.
He said the bandits entered Magami shooting indiscriminately, killing one person, while others scampered to the bush.
Ibrahim also said the gunmen further moved to Sabon Sara village and staged another similar attack in which one person was also killed.
They also went to Tungar Haya and set the village on fire.
Police spokesman, Mohammed Shehu confirmed that the two villages, Magami and Tungar Haya were attacked and two villagers killed.
He also said that the attack was a reprisal of some Fulanis who were killed by the Yansakai group.

Mohammed Shehu added that troops have since been mobilized to the area to restore normalcy.
