The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries OPEC has expressed sorrow and deep gratitude for the over 40 years of selfless service that Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo gave to the Organization.
OPEC says his dedication and leadership style will inspire OPEC for many years to come.
The Minister of state for Petroleum Resources Timipre Silva in a tweet, said the Ministry of Petroleum Resources is thrown into mourning over the passing of Muhammad Barkindo.
The minister says Barkindo’s passing is a great loss to Nigeria, to OPEC, to the Energy sector and most importantly to his family.
OPEC Secretary General, Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, passed away late Tuesday in Abuja after visiting the president at the Villa and attending the Nigeria Oil And Gas Conference.
