Bauchi State Commissioner For Local Governments And Chieftaincy Affairs Ahmed Aliyu Jalam Popularly known as Maikankana has Died in a motor accident along Darazo – Misau federal highway.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser media to the Bauchi State Governor, Mukhtar Gidado, the commissioner died immediately after the accident.
Gidado described late Jalam as a dedicated public servant, whose commitment to the development and well-being of his local communities was unwavering.
He said during his life time, he championed numerous initiatives aimed at improving good governance and community relations.
” Late Ahmed Jalam was known for his tireless work , integrity, and compassion for the people he served and his service will be remembered and cherished by all” the statement added.
Mukhtar Gidado said the demise of his local Government Commissioner is deeply felt by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed , his cabinet colleagues, friends, family, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched during his lifetime.
Governor Bala Mohammed on behalf of himself , his family , government and the good people of Bauchi State extends his deepest condolences to the members of his immediate family and the entire people of the State and prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanna Firdaus .
Late Ahmed Aliyu Jalam was appointed in 2019 as a Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Societal Re-orientation before he was redeployed to the Ministry of Water Resources and later to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
He would be buried Sunday morning at his tome town in Jalam, Dambam Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
