The Federal Government has expressed readiness to commence dredging of the Hadeija Jama’are River to address the incessant flooding and create job opportunities.
Managing Director and chief executive officer of the Hadeija, jamaare river basin development authority Ma’amun Aliyu stated this when he visited Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed in Government House, Bauchi.
The Hadeija, Jama’are River Basin development authority was established to among other things achieve sustainable development of surface and underground water resources for agriculture, water supply, industrial and other uses to improve the socio economic well being of communities within the areas.
Managing Director of the authority Ma’amun Aliyu outlined the activities of the authority that have direct benefits to Bauchi state in areas of water supply and job creation, calling on the state government to take full advantage of the opportunity.

Governor Bala Mohammed acknowledged the contribution of the Hadeija Jama’are River Basin Authority towards the development of the state, pledging to partner with them in administration’s quest to unbundle the many available opportunities
One other issue raised by the governor is the long awaited construction of the Kafin Zaki Dam, requesting the federal government to look into the project and its attendant benefits by ensuring it’s timely actualisation.
