Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has called on the state judiciary to give urgent and prompt attention to the Bill on Rape and Violence against Humanity in the state.
The Governor made the call when he was appending signature on the bill and five others, presented to him by members of the state assembly.
The Bill on Rape and Violence Against Humanity and five others were presented by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly to the Governor for approval.
Gov. Bala Mohammed after assenting to the Bills said, the penalty on rape will stem crime and criminality against humanity.

Speaking on the other bills, the Governor promised to fill up the gaps across the state, due to CoVID-19.
Other bills assented to were, COVID-19 Response, Revised 2020 Budget, Upgrading and renaming of three higher institutions in the state after Bill and Melinda Gates, Aliko Dangote and A D Rufai.
