The Bauchi State Government has reiterated its commitment to addressing the effects of climate change and other environmental issues affecting the socio-economic growth in the state and the country as a whole.
The Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Kawule, made this commitment while declaring open a three-day seminar on climate change, in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria.
Government officials and civil society organisations converged to deliberate on the need for Bauchi State Government to incorporate issues of climate control, in budgetary provisions, towards addressing climate change and environmental challenges.
The Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Kawule, declared the event open.
After the three-day workshop, the participants are expected to draft a communique that would contain workable solutions to the challenges identified.
