The Bauchi State Teachers’ Service Commission has approved the removal and demotion of a school principal and a senior master over allegations of vandalism and illegal sale of government property.
In a press statement signed by the overseeing Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Garba Mohammed Bashe, it was revealed that the Principal of Government Secondary School, Kirfi Musa Ahmed, and the Senior Master—Adamu Shehu were found guilty following an investigation by a four-man disciplinary committee set up by the Commission.
The two officers were accused of selling 32 scrapped student beds, nine jumbo aluminum pots, and an unspecified number of roofing zinc sheets belonging to the school.

According to the Commission, both officers are required to refund the sum of N597,000, the estimated value of the items sold.
Additionally, the principal has been directed to pay N72,000 owed to the school’s casual workers as part of his disciplinary measures.
The Commission further stated that the two officers have been demoted by one grade level and will be reassigned to other schools as classroom teachers.
