The Bauchi State Government has appealed to residents of the state to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly when the President comes visiting.

It is also appealing to the people to cooperate fully with security agencies deployed across the state, in order to ensure a smooth, hitch-free, and peaceful presidential engagement.

This appeal is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado.

The statement informs the general public that President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, will be in Bauchi State today, Saturday, 20th December 2025, on a condolence visit following the recent passing of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

Gidado disclosed that some major routes leading to the Sheikh’s mosque and other key locations would be temporarily closed or diverted between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm for security and traffic control purposes, to ensure public safety and effective traffic management during the President’s visit.

He added that the Bauchi State Government regrets any inconvenience the temporary measures may cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the general public.

The State Government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and order while honoring the legacy of the late Islamic scholar, whose life and teachings had a profound impact on Bauchi State, Nigeria, and the Muslim Ummah at large.
