Bauchi State Government has directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies to take charge of paying salaries and pensions to civil servants and retirees by January 2022 with a view to addressing the lingering problems.

This is part of the resolutions reached by critical stakeholders on salary administration during their emergency meeting held at the Bauchi State Government House.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Ibrahim Kashim commended Governor Bala Mohammed for the concern shown to the welfare of the civil servants in the state adding that giving the opportunity for ministries, departments and agencies to take charge of paying the staff salaries will help to overcome all the challenges relating to payments.

Others who addressed newsmen including the State Head of Civil Service, Yahuza Adamu, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Nuhu Zaki as well as representative of organised labour, Dauda Shuaibu applauladed the government for developing a statewide credible data that will pave way to exposing those compromising nominal and pay roll system in the state.

With this development and the exiting of DYNATECH Solutions Limited that was the consultant managing the state salaries and pensions, many civil servants are hoping that the lingering issues surrounding payments will be a thing of the past.
