Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has urged the people of Duguri Emirate to harness the rich agricultural land and abundant mineral resources in their area to tackle poverty, create jobs, and boost the state’s economy.
The governor made the call when he paid homage on the newly turbaned Emir of Duguri, in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

Duguri, an ethnic community in Alkaleri Local Government Area and hometown of Governor Bala Mohammed, is one of the 13 newly created first-class emirates in the state in addition to the six existing ones as part of efforts to foster inclusion and bring government closer to the people
A day after the turbaning of the new Emir of Duguri, Adamu Mohammed—who is the elder brother to the governor, Bala Mohammed, accompanied by his wife and senior government officials, are visiting the palace to express loyalty and solidarity.

The governor described the appointment as an act of God and urged the emir to be just and fair to all.
The Governor also called on the emir, a retired Customs officer, to use his experience to bring development, peace, and prosperity to the emirate and beyond.

Emir Adamu Mohammed III, in his response, appreciated the governor’s visit and assured of his loyalty and support to enable government deliver on its democratic promises.
The governor also paid a similar homage on the Emir of Bununu, in Tafawa Balewa local government area of the state.
