Worried about the high debt profile inherited from previous administrations, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed says, the government under his leadership has offset a debt of over N30 billion.

The Governor said this at the inaugural meeting of the new State Executive Council in Bauchi, the state capital, North-East Nigeria.

While presiding over the meeting, Governor Mohammed congratulated the new cabinet members, calling on them to use their wealth of experience to complement the government efforts of freeing resources towards the provision of infrastructure and human capital development.

According to him, despite the limited resources, his administration is paying over N1 billion in offsetting the accumulated debt profile inherited on assumption of office in 2019.
On the issue of security, the Governor asked the cabinet to make a positive contribution through collaboration with relevant stakeholders, to guarantee sustainable peace and economic development, across the state.
He assured the citizens of the government’s determination to improve the well-being of the people in both the rural and urban areas.
