The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission, BASIEC, has suspended the earlier scheduled local government elections in the state indefinitely.
The Chairman of the Commission, Dahiru Tata, said this in a statement released on Wednesday.
The suspension is coming on the heels of the prevalence of the dreaded Coronavirus in Bauchi State.

It could be recalled that Governor Bala Mohammed had earlier approved Saturday, June 20, for the conduct of the local government elections in the state.
