Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has granted a mandatory monthly approval of five million Naira to the Bauchi State Agency of Orphans and Vulnerable Children, BASOVCA.
The fund is to settle hospital bills and the purchase of essential drugs for orphans and vulnerable children in hard to reach areas, domiciled in primary healthcare centres across the 20 local government areas in the State.
The Governor made this known at the occasion of the presentation of starter packs to over 200 most vulnerable adolescent orphans and care givers in Bauchi, the state capital.
The BASOVCA is an agency created during the Isa Yuguda administration, to cater for the wellbeing of orphans and the less privileged in Bauchi State.
With 1% monthly contribution from civil servant’s salary as well as 2% from political office holders, this set of orphans and vulnerable children have learnt various skills under the agency’s empowerment programme.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Ladan Salihu, assured that his administration is committed to bringing to an end, the challenges of orphans and vulnerable children across the state.
Each beneficiary will be given Starter Pack with Trade Test Certificate of Competence and a capital of N10,000.
