Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has formally signed into law, the bill for the creation of additional 13 Emirates, including the creation of the Zaar Chiefdom, in addition to the six existing emirates.
During the signing of the law, the governor warned that anyone or any group of people attempting to politicise the reforms will face the wrath of the law.
The speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman, led principal officers of the Assembly to the Bauchi Government House, to present the laws for the creation of additional new emirates as well as the Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme and a Supplementary Appropriation Bill for 2025 to the Governor for his assent.
The speaker acknowledged that the creation of additional emirates, chiefdoms and districts is a significant and sensitive undertaking, designed to bring government, traditional leadership and development, closer to the people, in previously underserved areas.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, said the creation of new emirates and chiefdoms aims to reaffirm his administration’s collective effort in strengthening unity, justice and fairness, in order to reposition the state for the next phase of growth and development.
The Governor issued a clear and firm warning to those he described as saboteurs, adding that his administration will not tolerate any attempt to undermine, obstruct or politicise the implementation of these laws.
