The Federated Correspondents’ Chapel of the Bayelsa State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has placed embargo on all press releases from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
The chapel in a statement issued after its emergency meeting stated that the decision is sequel to further review of their earlier resolution passing vote of no confidence on the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Daniel Alabrah.
The statement signed by the chapel chairman, Mr. Chris Eze and Secretary, Mr. Bassey Willie notes that as representatives of the national media, they cannot continue to rely on press statements to report activities of Governor Douye Diri.

It also resolved to further review the embargo on Government House activities at its end of month congress for any further action it may deem necessary.
The Federated Correspondents’ Chapel, however, promised to continuously discharge its constitutional responsibilities as watch dogs of the society to ensure that issues affecting Bayelsans attract maximum attention in the media space.
