Recent statistics from the Bayelsa State COVID-19 Taskforce have shown a steady decline in the number of Coronavirus positive cases in the state.

AIT investigation reveals that active cases of COVID19 in the state now stand at 39 out of 339, as at the 3rd of August, 2020.

Bayelsa State joined the league of states with the coronavirus outbreak on the 27th of April, 2020.

The number of confirmed cases have since been rising daily to 339, as at August 3rd, despite several efforts made by the state government to keep the virus at bay.

However, recent updates have shown a steady decline in the number of cases.

The arrival of medical equipment for the setting up of the state owned COVID-19 testing laboratory in Yenagoa may have been the added advantage in the fight against the killer disease in Bayelsa.

With the number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria and around the world still on the increase, Bayelsans must continue to compliment efforts of the government in order to maintain the gains recorded so far in the State.
