Bayelsa state governor Douye Diri has inaugurated the first batch of members of the state’s Community Safety Corp
The inauguration, part of activities marking the governor’s third year in office involved 603 youths. twenty patrol vans and forty motorcycles to enhance security in the state.
The Governor said the Community Safety Corps is further evidence of his administration’s zero tolerance for crime and criminality.
The youths, selected from across the eight local government areas of the state went through nine weeks of intensive training in various disciplines including humanitarian law and intelligence gathering.

The new security officers will soon be deployed to various communities in the state to work in collaboration with officials of other security agencies.
