Bayelsa state Governor, Douye Diri has called on security agencies and the people to be of good conduct in the two senatorial bye-elections in the State.
This call is coming on the heels of an alleged destruction of election materials at one of the Registration Area Centres in Agbere community.
Governor Diri spoke to journalists shortly after casting his ballot at his home town Kalaowe Owei Ward 6 Unit 3 in Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the State.

Electoral officials and materials arrived Ward 6, comprising units 3 and 4 at 7:45am as accreditation and voting simultaneously commenced at about 8:40am.
Governor Diri alongside his wife Gloria after exercising his civic duty spoke on the process, even as he addressed alleged cases of insecurity reported in some parts of the State.
Covid-19 protocols were largely observed in Sampou where the Governor voted but the reverse was the case in other polling units monitored.
As at the time of filing this report voting was still ongoing in the various polling units visited.
