A request by Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state for the screening and confirmation of a nominee, Austin Igbagara as Member of the State Local Government Service Commission has been declined by legislators of the House of Assembly.
Igbagara had previously served in the Local Government Service Commission from 2019 till date
The screening took an unfortunate twist for the nominee during the exercise when some lawmakers pointed out some inconsistencies between his curriculum vitae and documents submitted, most of which bordered on his tax payments and appointments held.

Despite the benevolent disposition of the Speaker, Abraham Ingobere, an apparently bewildered Austin Igbaraga had a difficult time trying to answer the barrage of questions fired at him by the Lawmakers
After further grilling, the legislators took an unanimous decision for Igbaraga to leave the floor of the House and return for screening when his documents are in order.
