The people of Bayelsa state have gone to the poll to elect Chairmen into the eight council and 105 councillors.
Governor, Douye Diri, shortly after casting his vote at Kalama-wari ward 6 unit 3 in Sampou Community in Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA described the process as seamless.
He noted that the decision of the All Progressives Congress to boycot the election was only taken by a faction of the party.

He believes that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP’s choice candidates will carry the day given their vigorous campaigns.
The Governor also reacted to the decision of the main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress APC to boycott the LGA election.
Other polling units visited saw large turnout of the electorate who are eager to elect their representatives at the grass-roots
The April 6th Local Government election in Bayelsa State is coming a year and eight months after the expiration of the last elected Chairmen and Councilors across the State, in August 10th 2022 Election.The council areas had been supervised by caretaker committee members.
