A new executive to run the affairs of the All Progressives Congress at the State, Local Government and ward levels have been inaugurated in Bayelsa State.
Speaking at the event in Yenagoa, leader of the party in Bayelsa and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva said the party was now in a better position than ever to wrestle power from the ruling People’s Democratic Party in forthcoming election.
One after the other, executive members of the Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress at the state, local government and ward levels took their turn to swear allegiance to the party at an inauguration ceremony attended by a large crowd of supporters in Yenagoa.
For Minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, the fully attended inauguration ceremony of the Dennis Otitio led State executive and others, was an indication of the party’s popularity and unity in Bayelsa State.
The occasion also saw the inauguration of the Bayelsa APC Elders Advisory Committee and some top political figures of the People’s Democratic Party defecting along with their supporters to the APC.
The Bayelsa State APC now joins other chapters in the federation which have been inaugurated in preparedness for the party’s national convention slated for February 26th.
