Unity, cohesion, and sacrifice for the actualization of party ideals and goals should be the motivating factors for members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Bayelsa State.
This was the message former President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Douye Diri took to the inauguration of the new State Working Committee of Party in the State.
It is the first formal meeting between former President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Douye Diri since the former Bayelsa Central Senator was sworn-in as the fifth Executive Governor of Bayelsa State.
Jonathan in his address expressed satisfaction with the initiatives taken by the Governor in tackling the Coronavirus pandemic in the State.
He called for a united front among party members even as the State prepares for the Bayelsa Central and Bayelsa West Senatorial bye-elections.
Governor Diri says the forthcoming polls in the State would be a litmus test for the new executives while urging them to be loyal to the party ideals.
A minute silence was also observed for in honour of the late governorship aspirant, Keniebi Okoko whose died on the 14th of April, 2020
