Governor of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) in Bayelsa State, Perez Ogbobo has been told to answer to a 7.2 Million Naira fraud allegation levelled against him.

This development followed an intervention by the national leadership of PMAN on the internal crisis rocking the body in the state as well as investigations into a petition of financial mismanagement raised against Ogbogbo and his fellow executive members.

The emergency meeting held at the NUJ Press Centre in Yenagoa to reconcile all differences and unite members of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) in Bayelsa State, was presided over by the National General Secretary, Aita Bonny and Zonal Director, Arthur Pepple.

The two-man delegation also had a mandate to investigate a 7.2 million Naira fraud allegation levelled against the Bayelsa Chapter Governor Perez Ogbogbo and Treasurer Niweigha Ebipaki, a matter that has generated serious rancour and division amongst members.

After patiently hearing out claims, counter-claims, as well as contributions from members on issues affecting the State Chapter, the General Secretary and Zonal Director admonished on the need for transparency to avoid future misunderstandings.

Meanwhile, the national leadership has ordered the reinstatement of some executive members suspended by Perez Ogbogbo, who has also been directed to either present clear documentation for defending the missing sum of 7.2 million naira of the association’s money or face disciplinary action.
