Striker, Charity Rueben’s brilliant Ninety -two minutes goal has helped Bayelsa Queens retain their top position on the log of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWLF.

The keenly contested encounter that was played at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa ended 3-2 but witnessed moments of dissagreement over Centre referee’s decision.

Coach Moses Aduku of Bayelsa Queens and his Edo Queens counterpart Rolandson Odey had a busy day from their technical areas during the week six league game in Yenagoa where five goals were scored.

Captain Joy Jerry capitalized on a defensive blunder of the visitors to put the host team in front. Four minutes later Elizabeth Zirike of Edo Queen’s equalized through a well taken eighteen yard free kick to end the first half one all.

Substistute Charity Rueben’s powerful header gave Bayelsa Queens early lead at the resumption, but drama took centre stage in the 67th minutes of play when a controversial penalty was awarded against the home team. Elizabeth Ezirike converted the spotkick to record her first brace of the season.

When it appeared that the match referee was in a hurry to end the match, Former Falconet Attacker, Charity Rueben again scored the winner at the last kick of the game.

Current League Leaders, Bayelsa Queens will take their form to Umuahia next week Wednesdays for yet another tricky away match against Abia Angels.
