The Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri has encouraged his Rivers State counterpart, Siminialaye Fubaraye to be patient, tolerant, and more than ever, focused on delivering both human and material development for the people of Rivers state.

At a yuletide visit to Governor Diri this Wednesday in Sampou, Governor Siminialaye Fubara described his visit as brotherly unification of both states for development.

It was the first formal meeting between Governor Douye Diri and Governor Siminalayi Fubaraye at Sampou, Diri’s country home

Top of the agenda at the meeting was the unity of the two states which have common political boundaries and shared cultural heritage and traditions

Governor Fubara says to attain development, there must be peace and unity which was among reasons for his visit as he called for synergy between both states.

Regarding the political crisis in Rivers state, the Governor declared that he will do all it will take to sustain peace towards achieving economic growth.

Governor Douye Diri says the meeting was apt as he prays for God’s wisdom on the part of his Rivers state counterpart to surmount all challenges, to enable him to deliver on his mandate to the people

Diri accepted to partner with his brother Governor and called for better approaches in addressing pending legal issues between both states.

The rest of the meeting thereafter went into a closed-door session.
