The political realignment in Bayelsa State, South-South Nigeria continues as a serving member of the State House of Assembly, Ted Elemeforo, formally defects to the newly registered Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
Leaders of the party who receive the lawmaker into their fold say the vision of the party’s founder and former Governor who is a serving senator, Seriake Dickson, for a strong multi-party democracy remains central to the NDC ideology.
With songs and cheers from supporters, zonal and state leaders of NDC led a procession to the Akumoni Community Pavilion, venue for the formal reception of the member representing Yenagoa Constituency III, Ted Elemeforo.
The lawmaker is officially decorated with party symbols by representatives of the national and state leadership, signaling his entry into the NDC.

Leaders of the NDC say the party is committed to deepening democracy and preventing what they describe as the emergence of a one-party state in Nigeria.
They insist that vibrant opposition remains necessary for accountability, good governance, and national development.
Also joining the party are a former two-term chairman of Ward 15, in Yenagoa LGA, Zarama, Ebiemupe Genime, alongside several members of the All Progressives Congress, APC who defected to the NDC.
