The Bayelsa State Government has unveiled its own brand of rice called Bayelsa rice as part of efforts to ensure food sufficiency.
The event which took place at the State Banquet Hall in Yenagoa also saw the State government reiterate its stance to partner with farmers in the state in achieving its sets goals of promoting agriculture to grow the state’s economy.

The State government said it hopes to collaborate with the CBN as it plans to embark on mass production of rice and other produce.
The production of rice in Bayelsa State is expected to boost food sufficiency and create employment for its youths.
