The speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly Hyacinth Dajoh has temporarily banned visits to his the private residence in Makurdi the State capital stating that visitors will no longer be allowed for the time being.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary Terver Zamber explained that the measure become necessary due to a recent security breach at the Speaker’s private residence in Makurdi, which occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m on Monday.
Although unable to give full details at the time, Zamber said footage from CCTV cameras has identified individuals involved in the incident adding that the matter has been reported to the police, who are actively investigating.
He commended the Divisional Police Officer of A Division, Makurdi, for his swift response, as well as the deployment of additional security personnel to secure the premises.

“Until further notice, entry into the residence is restricted to the Honourable Speaker’s official aides and Members of the Benue State House of Assembly. We urge the public to remain patient and show understanding as security agencies work diligently to address the situation.”The Statement read in part
Zamber said the Speaker’s private residence will be reopened to visitors as soon as investigations are concluded and it is deemed safe to do so.
