Benue Gov Alia swears in 17 commissioners, 23 aides

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has sworn in 17 new commissioners and 23 Special Advisers.
During the ceremony in Makurdi, Governor Alia told the new commissioners and special advisers to show determination, courage, and resilience in order to make meaningful impact on the lives of the people.


The governor maintained that the inauguration of the cabinet members marks a milestone in his government’s effort to reposition the state and bring about the needed development.

He reminded the new appointees that their appointment was a call to dedicate themselves to service with trust and loyalty, adding that they have been entrusted with great responsibility and must reassure the Benue people that their trust in them is not misplaced.


A key performance index, or KPI, will be periodically used to monitor their progress on the job and determine their ability to serve Benue people.
Speaking on behalf of the new Commissioners, the Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management Frederick Ikyaan the thanked the Governor for finding them worthy of the appointment and pledged their unwavering support and people of the state.

The commissioners and their portfolios are;
Tiza Imojime, Works and Housing,
Omale Omale, Power and Transport,
Joy Luga, Cooperative, Urban and Rural Development,
Yanmar Ortese, Health and Human Services,
Frederick Ikyaan, Education and Knowledge Management,
Ugwu Odoh, Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change,
Kwaghba Amande ICT and Digital Economy.
Mathew Aboh, Information, Culture and Tourism,
Aondowase Kunde, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management,
Prof Moses Ogbaji, Agriculture,
Martin Shaager, Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals,
Michael Oglegba Finance, Budget and Economic Planning,
Ann Itodo, Women Affairs and Social Development,
Fidelis Mnyim, Attorney General, Commissioner of Justice and Public Order,
Terkimbi Ikyange, Youths, Sport and Creativity,
Alumo Orpin, Commence and Industry and Nick Eworo for Science, Technology and Innovation.
