The Benue State Government is demanding a retraction of a statement credited to the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar which reportedly tagged the State Governor Samuel Ortom as profiling Fulani people as bandits.
State Governor Samuel Ortom made the demand when he received members of the Jemgbah youth group in large numbers who staged a peaceful demonstration to register their diapproval.

The dust is yet to settle regarding a recent disagreement between the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Atiku and the Benue State Governor.
The youths from the 3 local councils referred to as Jemgbah the intermediate area of the PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu marched to Government house to register their displeasure over the former Vice President’s widely reported statement – a move welcomed by the State Governor who demanded an unreserved apology from his party’s Presidential candidate.
