Benue State Government has disclosed plans to establish another State University and also facilitate the establishment of satellite campuses of the existing one.
State Governor Hyacinth Alia disclosed this during the combined convocation ceremony of the University.
Visitor of the institution, Governor Hyacinth Alia announced the establishment of the State University of Agriculture at Ihugh in Vandeikya local government area of the State.
He also announced the establishment of BSU satellite campuses in 2 senatorial districts of the State.

The Vice-Chancellor, Tor Iorapuu disclosed plans by the institution to close the accommodation deficit as the construction of a hostel.
This high point of the event was the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees of the university on 6 distinguished Nigerians.
