The Benue State Government has held a valedictory Executive Session in honour of late elder statesman and Second Republic minister for steel development Paul Unongo at the Government house in Makurdi the State capital.
Vice President Kashim Shettima who was in attendance urged leaders at all levels to imbibe exemplary qualities and selflessness to promote good governance like the founding fathers of the country did and paid glowing tributes to Unongo
The Vice president was accompanied by the Chairman Northern Governor’s forum and Governor of Gombe State Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya
State Governor Hyacinth Alia expressed gratitude to the vice president and other top government functionaries who attended the session and thanked the late elder statesman’s family for agreeing to the wishes of Unongo even after his death.
Also in attendance was the President of the 8th Senate Bukola Saraki.
The Late Wantaregh Paul Unongu passed on November 29th 2022 in Jos, Plateau State at the age of 87 and his remains buried on the 30th November this year at his country home in Jato Akaa in Kwande local government area of Benue State.
