The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has disclosed plans to launch a local security outfit that will consist of ten thousand youths before the end of May this year.
Governor Alia who stated this during the Stakeholders Meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Government House, Makurdi
says the new outfit will complement the efforts of the other security agencies in tackling security challenges bedeviling the state.
Critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress gathered at the Government house for this interaction at the instance the State Governor Hyacinth Alia.

He gives reasons for the meeting which is security related and was okayed by the State commissioner of police especially as the ban on political gatherings is still in force.
Alia then discloses plans to unveil a security outfit.
While reeling out some of his achievements the Chief Executive says over 50 other road contracts have been awarded across the State and will be completed within a period of 12 months.
He insisted that the party in the State remains United under the leadership of the acting chairman.
The previous administration had in 2022 launched a security outfit codenamed community volunteer guard.
