As part of measures to sufficiently bridge the gap in teaching resources, the Benue State executive council has initiated modalities for the recruitment of 1172 staff for tertiary institutions and an additional 2000 for its primary and secondary schools.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Ngunan Addingi, made this known after the State Executive Council meeting in Makurdi, the state capital.

The steady declining number of teachers in service as a result of retirement or death had created a huge gap in the education sector greatly hampering teaching and learning in most schools in the state.
The State Executive, therefore, decided to take proactive steps to close the existing gap in five tertiary education institutions.
The State Universal basic education was equally authorized to process employment of teachers.
