A recent decision by the All Progressives Congress APC Benue State chapter not to participate in the forthcoming local council election has been described as laughable by the spokesperson to the State Governor Nathaniel Ikyur.

While the APC attributed their decision not to field candidates to the dishonest manner the State Governor and the State independence electoral commission BSEIC have been conducting their affairs, the Governor’s spokesman says the party is simply afraid of participating as it is obviously not on ground.

State executive council members as well as critical stakeholders of the all progressives congress led by their chairman Austin Agada enumerate a couple of concerns to newsmen during this well thought out press conference.

Top on the list was their obvious support for the leader of the party in the State who is vying to be national chairman.

Closely followed by their decision not to participate in the forthcoming local council election.

This prompted reactions from the chief press secretary to the Governor.

On the issue of women inclusion in the local electoral process the Governor’s spokesman also enumerates the efforts the boss has made

The local council election has been slated to hold in May this year an exercise which the main opposition party in the State has chosen to boycott.
