The Benue State Government has approved the appointment of Deborah Aber Serumun, as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), following the resignation of the former SSG, Joseph Alakali.
Alakali submitted his letter of resignation on Monday, stating that he needed time to address personal challenges.
Accepting the resignation, Governor Alia expressed gratitude to Alakali for serving the state under his administration for a year and three months.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, quoted the governor as “wishing the former SSG well and praying that the Almighty grant him the strength to tackle the many challenges he has chosen to address.”
Aber is a graduate of the University of Jos and Nasarawa State University, whom Governor Alia believes her wealth of experience and trustworthy record of service will add significant value to his government.
She hails from Gwer local government area of the State.
The Governor charged her to remain focused and align her work with the vision of the administration as outlined in the working document; urged her to always prioritise the interests of the state in her day-to-day official functions.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
