The election of Abba Moro, Senator representing Benue South district, has been affirmed by the National and State Assembly election petition tribunal in Makurdi.
No order as to cost was awarded.
According to the tribunal chairman Ory Zik-Ikeorha,
the petitioners failed to call credible and reliable evidence to get judgment.
“Evidence adduced is weak, porous and lacking in substance hence can not sustain the petition, reliefs sought were therefore, refused”.
The petition was therefore dismissed in its entirety.
The two other members of the panel, Usman Mohammed and Saliu Zubayr, agree with the judgment.
The petitioners called 17 witnesses while the three respondents – Moro, PDP, INEC – after review of their case by their counsel didn’t call any witnesses.
